A suitable sponsor this week as "Control" was certainly the name
of the game. A gusty 15-24 knot S-SE breeze and large swell made
the conditions very tricky during these heats.
Overall winners of the day were Robin Inns & Joel Coultas
showing good boatspeed and collecting 2 bullets. John Heywood &
Brett Littledike had great form on the runs leaving them close
behind with a 2/3. Greg Allison & Richard Watson, and Tom
Gordon & Jack Fletcher also made the podium with 4/2 and 3/5
respectively.
Pete Allison has requested crew Ian "Incredible Hulk" Nadebaum lay
off the roids after he snapped a stainless steel trapeze fitting
and bent a mast in as many weeks, but it was class president Dave
Godden who collected the highly esteemed "Controlled Innovation
Screwball Award". Dave decided Father knows best and ignored
Danielle's request to head to the buoy. He felt he would show some
"innovation" and try to round a yellow beach umbrella located
somewhere near Largs Bay. Probaby a good idea if a yellow beach
umbrella was on the course board, or if semi-naked sweedish bikini
clad tourists were under the umbrella. Unfortunately neither was
the case. Lesson of the day, always listen to your crew.
Author: an unbiased crew.
PS. A safe journey to all heading towards Port Lincoln for the
Nationals. Hope to see you there!
