Fireball Shetland
welcomed Andrew Davies, Fireball International Secretary over the
weekend of the Shetland Boat Show to begin
preparations for 2014
European Championships. Andrew was on the Fireball Shetland stand
over the weekend, as well as giving
interviews to local
media outlets to promote the championships. Along with local
Chairman John Manson, they made courtesy visits to
Lerwick Port
Auth...ority, Promote Shetland, BBC Radio Shetland, and Mareel,
Shetlands brand new music venue which will host the final
night prize giving and
party. Andrew also saw the race area, Lerwick Boating Club, and
held meetings with the Race Officers and local
Fireball sailors. Plans
for the regatta are now being developed prior to the Notice of Race
being issued over the summer. Fireball
Shetland would like to
thank Andrew for taking time out of his very busy schedule to visit
us, which we all thought was very
worthwhile.
