NSC is located inside a provincial park where you can camp at a serviced powered campsite just steps from the club and your boat. Or you can tent on the club lawn. Sailors will gather around evening campfires to share fireball facts and fiction. For those preferring fixed-roof accommodation there are hotels in Brooks 10 km away. Lake Newell has relatively undisturbed winds for an inland lake due to being surrounded by low-lying prairie. NSC provides good race management and is a frequent and friendly host for the fireballs. In addition to superb sailing, the area offers good lake-swimming, road-cycling, nature-viewing, and the Calgary Stampede which coincides with Fireball Canadians and continues for a week afterwards.
Newell Sailing Club is in southern Alberta, 15 km off the Trans-Canada Highway. All roads lead to Fireball Canadians at Newell.
